We believe that all students deserve to like school and to find it a place where they are respected and recognized. They deserve to be engaged and challenged in a disruption-free environment. We believe all students deserve a dedicated staff that implements a rigorous curriculum, which includes field trips, instrumental music, and a foreign language, to enable them to master and exceed state standards. Students deserve support from parents, tutors, and community members. We believe our students deserve opportunities to use technology, to stretch their bodies as well as their minds, and to have unique and innovative experiences in the community that teach them more about the world.
COLLEGE READINESS
The staff and families of George W. Julian Elementary School believe that all of our students will one day attend colleges and universities that will enable them to excel as professionals in a variety of fields. Evidence of our committment to this belief is throughout the school. Our hallways contain the pennants of various institutions of higher learning. We have a bulletin board displaying photographs of staff members and the colleges and universities from which they have degrees. One hallway has a listing of the graduation year of every grade in our school. Classes complete college readiness activities during each month. Students are taught the work and study habits and technology skills that will ensure their success in college and as citizens of a global society.
